Happy Teachers Day

September 4, 2020 By Vandana Anand Leave a Comment

Happy Teachers Day

I am sure; most of you today will remember one teacher who has had a lasting impact on your school life or college life.

September five is a special day for teachers and students across India. The day marks the birthday of India’s second President Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.

Learning never stops in life. It is not limited to schools, colleges, higher education institutes. You keep learning every day – from people around you, by reading, by listening, by observing, by doing and by experiencing. Every day is a teacher, every event a lesson. Life and time are the best teachers. This does not limit the role that parents, teachers, mentors, and gurus play in your life. Thank them not only today, but everyday.

Celebration of a day is complete only when we imbibe what we learn.

Teachers have played a significant role in shaping our lives. Today, we talk about influencers who can take your business to new heights. Influencers are the ones who have a greatest following, who can shape your actions, influence you in one way or the other.

After parents, teachers are the best influencers in a person’s life. They shape your thoughts, and they shape your behaviours. Consciously or unconsciously, teachers make you the kind of person you become as adults. A good teacher is the one who adds value to your life, and instils curiosity. A good teacher helps you understand the importance of discipline. A good teacher prepares you to deal with life’s challenges with calmness and self-control.

Teachers must be mindful of what they are passing on to the next generation. You learn a lot, not through textbooks, but observations, and behaviours.

Your contribution to building a positive environment around you, is a reflection of your learning.

The mode of teaching may change, the way teachers communicate with students may change, but the motive remains the same – caring and knowledge sharing.

Self-learning has become the hallmark of the digital world. Many professionals are taking lessons online, learning new skills and adding value to their work. Who is the teacher here? You are. You are shaping your life, your knowledge, your destiny – you are your teacher.

Covid-19 has become one of the most outstanding teachers of this century. The present situation is teaching humanity how to live, how to express gratitude, how to value life, the environment, how to be thankful and not take anything for granted.

While you are learning, add fun to your life. Make a card, dedicate a song, write a quote, convey your message and thank the teacher in your life. Celebrate the unique bond that you share with your teacher, your role model.

Today, take a pledge to become a teacher for someone. Share the knowledge that you have, illuminate someone’s life, and inspire somebody.
