26,506 new cases of coronavirus and 475 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours. This has taken the total number of positive cases in India to 7.93 lakh so far.
In Mizoram, 23 people have tested positive for coronavirus taking the toll to 226 in the state. 115 new cases have been reported in Rajasthan. In Maharashtra, over 6000 new Covid-19 cases and 198 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours taking the total case to 230,599 in the state. Tamil Nadu with 126, 581 cases, Delhi with 107,051 cases and Gujarat with 39,194 cases are at the top of the chart with the highest number of cases in the country.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization acknowledged ‘Emerging Evidence’ that suggest Coronavirus might spread by air, accelerating the pandemic further. A group of over 200 international scientists said exhaled droplets under five micrometres in size that contain the virus can become suspended in the air for several hours and travel up to tens of metres. The two-metre physical distancing guideline has been a major element in the fight against COVID-19 so far. The Pandemic has killed more than 538,000 people and infected over 11.6 million since it emerged in China last December.
