June 21 is celebrated across the world as Music Day to celebrate music and musicians. Due to Covid-19, this year, the day will be celebrated indoors. Like Yoga, music is considered to act as a therapy and helps lower stress, treats mental health issues and helps in treating sleep disorders.
World Music Day started in 1982 in France as ‘Fete de la Musique’, a music festival. The man behind it was the then French Minister of Culture Jack Lang. It soon spread worldwide, and people in every country celebrate music in their unique way.
