China is upset by Trump’s invitation to India, Australia, South Korea and Russia for the upcoming G7 summit scheduled to be held in September 2020. A statement from China said ‘Any attempts to draw a small circle” against Beijing will be “doomed to fail” and become “unpopular”.
G7 is a group of seven developed countries of the world. US, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Canada are part of G7.
The group meets annually to discuss issues of global importance. Due to Coronavirus, the G7 summit was delayed until September. Trump has expressed his desire to expand the group to make it G10 or G11. Trump is aggressively taking steps to isolate China with a range of measures. Tension between US and China is escalating over the spread of Coronavirus with China not divulging details of the information on time. China has however denied all US allegations. Over 375,000 people have lost their lives worldwide due to Covid-19. The US is the worst-hit country with over 1 lakh deaths reported so far.
Indian PM Modi attended the G7 Summit last year in Biarritz, France after invitation as a special guest to G7 summit in 2019 by Fresh President Emanuel Macron.
