A team of National Disaster Response Force is conducting restoration work after Cyclone Nisarga made landfall in Maharashtra in the afternoon of June 3. Strong winds accompanied by heavy rainfall was reported from the city. 4 people have lost their lives. The power supply is badly hit in the state. The depression is likely to weaken further today and is likely to move towards Vidharba where moderate rainfall is expected. Lakhs of people were evacuated along the coast of Maharastra and Gujarat which are also two states most affected by Covid-19. Patients suffering from Corona have been shifted from hospitals. This is the worst cyclone to hit Mumbai in more than a century.
This is the second cyclone to hit India within 2 weeks. Earlier cyclone Amphan hit the coast of Bengal and Odisha.
