
The centre of May 30 extended nationwide lockdown until June 30 in containment zones. Containment zones are areas where positive coronavirus cases will be active. There will be surveillance and clinical interventions in containment zones if required. Mumbai, with over 37,000 cases and Delhi with over 17,000 cases have close to 100 containment zones. The Coronavirus case in India stands at 173, 763 with 4971 deaths and 86, 422 active cases till May 30.
States with the maximum number of confirmed cases include – Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Movement of people is also restricted from 9 pm to 5 am. Local authorities will demarcate containment areas. Malls, hotels, restaurant, places of worship will open June 8 onwards. The government will notify decision on opening Cinema halls; international flights, gyms, metro trains, and political gatherings post-assessment. Schools, colleges, coaching institutes will be re-opened after consultation with state governments.
